Are you in an uncertain place in life and find yourself desiring peace and happiness? Do you fear the unknown or constantly worry about your future? Do you experience bouts of sadness or anger that appear to be intensifying? Have you tried everything within your power to fix these things, but nothing has worked? Well, there is hope. Regardless of what you are struggling with, the right therapist can help you begin the healing process. I believe that I am the right therapist for you because I understand and can relate.

My name is Dexter Jefferson, and I am a black licensed clinical social worker. In 2009, I graduated from the University of Southern California with a graduate’s degree in social work. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression and trauma, but broadly speaking, my expertise ranges from alcohol and drug abuse, addiction, and bipolar & psychotic disorders. In my 15 years of experience working in the human services field, I have practiced at every level of care in various positions ranging from therapist to clinical director.

Prior to starting my practice, I was a clinical director and therapist for 3 years with Life Stance Health, which is one of the largest mental health providers in the country. As a black therapist, I understand the difficulties and frustrations of finding a therapist that can relate to the unique struggles that black people face. I recognize that many black people struggle for various reasons to find peace, joy, and healing in a world that can be unjust, and dismissive of the true pain that black people endure. Oftentimes, life bruises us internally and causes invisible wounds. Allow me the opportunity to come along side of you and give you some powerful tools and techniques to help you heal.

I provide virtual individual psychotherapy within the states of California, Arkansas, Missouri,  Oklahoma, and Washington that is tailored to meet the unique needs of every one of my clients. I recognize that everyone is different, and may require different approaches to treatment, although the overarching goal for each of my clients is the same. The goal is for my clients to be healed, whole and well, while living life to the fullest.
